Many Norwegians eat too little fish and do not meet the health authorities’ recommendations for two to three fish meals a week. Women eat less fish than men and younger women eat less than older women. For example, many pregnant women eat less than one fish meal a week, thereby running the risk of missing out on important health benefits from seafood. We do not know enough about children’s seafood intake, but the intake is also low in this group, especially in the 4–13 age bracket.
