Background

The national surveillance program for shellfish production was started by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority in 2006 based on the EU 845/2004.

Objective

The aim of the national surveillance program for shellfish production is to document chemical pollutants and the indicator bacterium E. coli in areas of commercial bivalve production.
