There is limited knowledge about the level of radioactivity in Norwegian farmed salmon. In this project, we wish to measure the level of radioactivity in farmed salmon, and make the data available to countries to which Norway exports farmed salmon. In addition, it is important to know something about background level in case of an accident involving radioactivity. In the monitoring of Norwegian farmed fish, according to EU 96/23, samples of farmed fish from all over the country is collected. In this monitoring program, we only use a small part of the samples, the rest of the material can be used to measure radioactivity.


We wish to examine the level of radioactivity in Norwegian farmed salmon.
