The content of contaminants and fatty acids in wild Atlantic salmon
Start date: 1. February 2015
End date: 15. December 2015
In cooperation with: IMR
The project is lead by: NIFES

Background

Many data are available on the levels of contaminants in Norwegian farmed salmon, whereas little information is available for wild Atlantic salmon. This project is a collaboration with the Institute of Marine Research and the samples collected for a larger project on genetics of wild salmon are used to generate important data to compare the food safety of farmed and wild Atlantic salmon.

Objective

The aim of the project is to write a scientific article for a peer-reviewed international journal on the content of contaminants and fatty acids in wild Atlantic salmon.
